A Summary of the HP CP2025 Printer

The HP CP2025 laserjet printer, which uses (as you might expect) HP CP2025 toner, is fairly well reviewed by most major consumer report sites who praise this compact printer for its size, print speed, color ability, and print quality. Also, it is fairly cheap compared to many other large laserjet printers out there. However, most user reviews paint a picture that claims, instead, that you get what you pay for.

The big problem for this printer is its appetite. This printer will use far more of the toner per page than advertised, coming out with a fairly typical efficiency of 3 pages / 4 advertised on the toner cartridge. With these packs running at 120 dollars a piece, that is a big loss over time. If you are looking for robust continuous printing, this probably isn’t the model for you and you should consider buying larger and sturdier.

Its advantages, as mentioned, are a print quality greater than most similar small laser jet printers, along with a quick printing rate. This is particular surprising considering what most would call bad construction, as the parts tend to feel small, wobbly, and awkward. Durability is therefore highly suspect. And it is loud during printing, louder than most similar models.

Generally the printing software is highly recommended, with step by step guides and animations. The installation is also incredibly simple and the printer joins networks very simply. However, navigating a method to suppress the printer’s low ink supply messages and popups will save you some angst during your ownership, and can also help extend the life of your cartridges by a significant amount.
